  • The Operational Stability (OS) - Operational stability is undoubtedly an important requirement of any kind of service delivery. To ensure the efficient operational flow and quality of the service product to be delivered to the clients, a robust operational structure and its stability are the most important parameters.

Types Of IT Support And Service Providers described by Zac Ferry at Idea Girl Media

Types Of Service Providers

The Tech support and services provider is basically a company that provides the various organizations with services such as consulting, education, storage, processing, legal, real estate and various other services.  It could even be small business IT support.

In the IT world the service providers are categorized into 3 types namely:

  • Type I or the Internal Service Provider: They operate generally within the internal market space which is generally the Internal Business Unit (IBU). It generally depends on the business. When one unit starts to achieve more profit, it leads to the creation of sub units.
  • Type II or the Shared Service Unit: They generally provide non-core services namely Finance, IT and various others to the business units.
  • Type III or the External Service Unit: They are similar to the shared unit, though they generally provide services to the external units.

The process of digitalization always starts with efficient IT solutions that can support the complex service challenges in the future.

Traditional BI platforms have come a long way over the past decade. In the past, they used to glean intelligence from a relatively small subset of data overseen by specialists who were the only ones who could access and interpret the information. The business would ask a question and the specialist would get back to them a few days later with a response.

Great post Zac, I think people underestimate how valuable good IT support can be! Not just preventing your business from shutting down due to IT problems but they tend to know a lot about software for marketing, CRM systems or even mail systems like Mailchimp! That can really help your business grow!
