Latte Art - Every cup tells a story! Lets have a little FUN...

There are a few things I favor:

  • Purple - the color.
  • International travel.
  • Good community stewardship.
  • Courage in creativity.
  • Newly roasted, freshly ground coffee.

Wanna make me really happy??

Bring me a latte!

Here's how I like it:

  • 16 ounces.
  • Skim.
  • Half-caf.
  • Light foam.
  • Extra hot (about 170F degrees).
  • Bonus points if it comes with a low-sugar biscotti NOT covered in chocolate.

This is my vice. I even have a Coffee Shop Finder app on my Android phone.  Starbucks and Caribou Coffee are great, but I really love exploring local "mom & pop" shops!

Yesterday afternoon when a latte would have hit the spot, my Twitter stream included a link to an article on Latte Art.  So of course, I clicked...

A delightful read -- I learned all about a little coffee shop in Maine that "handles coffee like the gift it is," brewing only by manual methods.  Anne, one of their brand ambassadors - a previous Barista - shared her enthusiasm and methodology of latte art.

I was impressed by their Thursday Night Throwdown -- a latte art championship where registration fees are donated  to Coffee Kids, a non-profit organization that works to improve the lives of coffee-farming families.  The food economy is a big focus in my local area, so I appreciated the words about food crops touching many people from farmer to server.  The same with coffee!

Watch a quick video - See Anne describe that there's a story in every cup.

Did you see the tulip? And with soy milk, no less!  (Now I need to find a latte artist near me...)

This beautiful stuff just begs for Media Muffins!

What are Media Muffins, you ask? Sweet little treats meant to inform and inspire - sent out bi-weekly via email on Wednesdays (today!).

Not receiving Media Muffins?  Don't miss out - Get on the list!

What is your vice?

How do you like your latte?

I really want to know...Tell me about your favorites below!

That is so awesome that they are reaching out to the farming community. Coming from a farming town, I can tell you that is probably a huge blessing. Thanks for sharing.

Ashley, I too am from a small town with a strong farming and agriculture base. It is great to see the reaching out to the community in that way, isn’t it? A pleasure to see you here – Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 🙂 ~Keri
